'Here Comes the Sun' - framed canvas print

An illustration created for The Vinyl Show, an exhibition of artists’ responses to music put on at The Crypt in 2023. I chose Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles as it had always given me such clear images in my mind since I first heard it as a small child. Quite a literal interpretation; I wanted to capture the light quality that only happens when rain clouds give way to intense sun after a downpour. I enjoy that stark contrast in natures colours; dark soggy foliage against bright a sunlit landscape beyond and dark rain clouds contrasting with a patch of blue sky You can almost smell the ‘Petrichor’ (that lovely earthy, after-rain smell!)
